Elias Wins Moto2 at Indi.

Moto2 News - Honda Racing
Toni Elias extends his world championship lead with his fifth win of the season
Toni Elias (Gresini Racing Moto2, Moriwaki) extended his world championship lead with his fifth win of the season in the red flag-interrupted Moto2 final, despite suffering from a fever and body pains that made the 35C heat unbearable and sapped his strength.

The first attempt to start the race ended with a pair of multi-rider crashes in turn two. The re-start would be 30 minutes later and Elias was ready.

Elias bolted into the lead from sixth on the grid, taking Scott Redding (Marc VDS Racing Team, Suter) and Julian Simon (Mapfre Aspar Team, Suter) with him.

Close Encounters, Prairie Dogs, The Occidental and Whoops!

On day 53 I left Deadwood where I had been staying as it is close to Sturgis. As you probably know, Deadwood is steeped in Cowboy legend. Colonel George Armstrong Custer led an expedition into the Hills and announced the discovery of gold in South Dakota. Custer's announcement triggered the Black Hills Gold Rush and gave rise to the lawless town of Deadwood. The town became famous for the murder of Wild Bill Hickock and he is buried nearby along with Calamity Jane in the nearby cemetery.

You can still see glimpses of the past, but most of the original buildings are gone...."

Rossi set for another Superbike test - Yahoo! Eurosport

Rossi set for another Superbike test - Yahoo! Eurosport:

"Valentino Rossi will come closer to deciding whether to race in this week’s German Grand Prix after arranging a second Superbike test at Brno.

Rossi returned to testing action last week aboard the Yamaha R1 at Misano just a month after breaking his leg in an accident during the Italian Grand Prix.

Setting a best lap of 1min 38.2secs, the Italian admitted he is still lacks fitness, but is eager to get back to competition sooner rather than later.

Naming the Sachsenring as the venue for a potential return in less than a week’s time, according to GPOne, Rossi will undergo another test at Brno today [Monday] to give him a better idea of whether to target Germany or wait until the Czech event in just over a month’s time."

"Worst england game ever.. I'm still bouncing this morn..lazy over paid twats..!"

Come on now Carl, don't hold back!

BBC - Jennie Gow: Perky Pedrosa lights up Silverstone

"Riders for Health, which aims to provide reliable transport to aid workers in Africa, hosts a charity day called Day of Champions, raising thousands of pounds by auctioning all sorts of rider merchandise and memorabilia.

Our very own Steve Parrish and Matt Roberts took to the stage several times to entertain the crowd. Then in the afternoon it was time for the real money-making to begin with Valentino Rossi paintings and Dani Pedrosa's boots just some of the items going under the hammer.

It was just before he took to the stage that I met up with Pedrosa, who won at Mugello last time out. Now, I have to be honest with you, Pedrosa has a reputation of being a little sullen and has always shied away from the media. He does not have the natural charisma that someone like Valentino Rossi or Jorge Lorenzo has. Nevertheless, he is undoubtedly one of the best riders in the world, preferring to do his talking on the track."

Hello family and friends,

First, my apologies to those who’ve been asking for the usual, daily updates I’ve been writing throughout the past few TT fortnights—rest assured this year’s TT was again packed with enough intrigue, highs, lows, and deception that its narrative seems more fitted to an action-packed mystery novel than a motorcycle racing meet.

If you like, here’s the complete story, all in one go:

Strange things transpired in the weeks leading up to this year’s TT, beginning with my would-be Superbike team getting robbed.

Harley-Davidson Troubles

The last quarter of 2009 brought about financial turmoil for Harley-Davidson Inc., as the iconic American motorcycle brand reported its first quarterly loss in 16 years.

The deficit: $218.7 million. A massive number in any industry, but it didn't stop the Motor Company's CEO from receiving an incredible pay package during his first eight months on the new job.

Keith E. Wandell's pay package? $6.4 million, which reportedly included a base salary of $650,025 from his start day of May 1 through the end of 2009, a bonus of $780,030 and stock and option awards valued at $4.9 million. It was reported that Wandell also received other compensation worth $22,515, which includes a cash payment of $19,733 instead of perquisites.

Toro Trail in Spain and Morocco

We are based in Southern Spain just 20 minutes from Malaga airport in the picturesque mountain village of Alhaurin El Grande.

We pick you up from the airport in one of our 'limo's' and hand you a cold beer!

Located just 20 minutes from Malaga airport!

Testimonial:

“Hi Lyndon,

On behalf of all twelve Swedes, I want to express our honest and deepest THANK YOU for a fantastic adventure in Andalucía!!! We had extremely FUN riding along the trails and riverbeds! The guides (Domien and Carlos) are most certainly the best possible! Everything went just perfect (except for a twisted knee). The whole trip exceeded our expectations by far. Some of us even mentioned it was their best biking experience ever!

Believe me we will spread the word around about Torotrail amongst our biking friends in Sweden!!!

Hope to back sometime soon!

Keep up the good work!

Motorcycle Lodge

Gary France posted this on his USA Tour blog and it looks like a great idea.

“I was cruising the web earlier today and I looked at a blog that I like – it is called Thunder Road. Essentially a guy (Radar) in Texas who loves motorcycle touring is considering setting up a lodge (or lodges) to specifically cater for touring bikers. He is gathering information on what bikers might want out of such a lodge and he wants people to visit his blog to vote on this. I have voted and it struck me that I could help by publicising the need for as many bikers to visit his blog and vote.
If you want to vote and help determine what his lodges should contain, or if you want to publicise this on your own blog if you have one, then visit The Thunder Road Blog

APUNTADLO EN LA AGENDA, QUE NADIE SE LO PIERDA!!

Want To Get Down And Dirty?

P6041753 When I first moved to Spain in 1999 I went off-roading with Juande Sempere on a bike lent to me by my friend and workmate Chato.  The bike was a trials bike, you know the type, no seat!  Juande took me in to the mountains around Castalla for an early morning start at 6am.  By dinner time I had been on tracks and over rocks well and truly outside my comfort zone and I was absolutely knackered but it was a fantastic experience.

I also did a track day with Octavio Sempere but that’s another story.

The photo is from a trip I did in June 2007, my second and last time off-road.

For all of you who haven’t tried it give it a go.  You will have spills but more than that it tests you and when you get it right it’s exhilarating.

Is it a Plane? Is it a Trike?

Take a look at the Samson Motorworks web and judge for yourself.

If you are thinking of buying a Swithblade then you’d better start saving as the fully functional version will cost around $80.000.  You might be thinking that you can save money by hopping over those toll booths but there is no way you’ll be allowed to take off from anywhere but a designated airfield.

USA Tour on a Harley-Davidson

In June 2010, Gary France will be starting a 4 to 5 month, 13,800 mile tour of the USA on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. At the moment, he is in the planning stage and this blog gives details of how the planning is going. Later, when he is on the tour, it will be updated daily.

Gary said, “I am planning this 13,800 mile tour across the USA from my home just north of London in the UK. I have two Harley-Davidsons motorcycles and I am fortunate that I am able to retire early (part-time at least), put away my business suits and then do some of the things I have wanted to do for years!”

Keep an eye on his blog and enjoy the journey with him.  He is also asking for your opinion on lots of subjects.  Get in there and contribute.
